The Heat Tape "Raccoon Valley Recordings" CD CCCP 143-2
$9.00
Description
The Heat Tape are straight outta Makanda, Illinois (pop. 419) and their debut record, "Raccoon Valley Recordings", takes it's name from the very trailer park where the band conducts all their business. You heard right: this group was formed in a trailer park in Southern Illinois (not far from where they host the annual Gathering of the Jugggalos) and the band is made up entirely of trailer park denizens. Sadly, The Heat Tape are NOT a buncha hilljacks making music inspired by zoophilia and Funyuns. It's actually long-time Red Scare comrade Brett Hunter (The Copyrights, Dear Landlord) making feverishly infectious lo-fi ditties with his friends in his mobile home. It reminds us of The Thermals, Jay Reatard, The Marked Men...if that helps. We fell in love on the first listen and now we're bringing you some insights from the backcountry; so mix up that Mountain Dew with some vodka (they call that a Voo Dew in Makanda) and give this shit a spin.
